KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School

KIPP, the Knowledge is Power Program, is a non-profit network of 200 college-preparatory, public charter schools educating early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students throughout the United States. KIPP expanded its reach in the MA region to the City of Lynn in 2004 and the City of Boston in 2012.

A client since 2006, QPD has served as “in-house” real estate director providing advisory services involving budget and schedule management, leasing, acquisition, financing, public process and oversight of design and construction for 3 locations in Boston serving students K-8. In addition, QPD has overseen master planning, leasing, acquisition, financing, public process and oversight of design and construction for KIPP’s Lynn campuses serving students in grades K-12.

QPD facilitated the project at 90 High Rock St from site selection through delivery. The state of the art facility was a ground-up construction project that was first delivered in 2012. Subsequently, QPD managed the addition of 10 additional classrooms and restroom space. The total building occupancy is 1,000 students.

Edward Brook School

Edward Brooke School, Mattapan

Founded in 2002, the 3 Brooke K-8 Schools and high school serve approximately 1,600 low-income students in the Boston area.

QPD began its relationship with Brooke in 2012 and has provided site finding, negotiation and property acquisition, budget and schedule management, oversight of public process approval, team assembly and oversight of design and construction.

At the Mattapan campus, QPD assisted in the acquisition and renovation of the building.

Bridge Boston Charter

Bridge Boston Charter School

Bridge Boston was chartered in February 2011 and opened in September of 2011. Today, we have 335 students enrolled in pre-Kindergarten to eighth grade.

The design of the school—with features such as a natural light filled atrium, full-service kitchen, gymnasium, 20ft Ficus tree, and customized music and art spaces—is intended to complement the work of our staff and academic programming.

QPD assisted in site finding and acquisition, as well as managing the renovation of the existing structure and addition of the prefabricated, detached gymnasium.

The Edward Brooke High School is an entirely new construction, state of the art facility located directly next to their Mattapan K-8 campus. QPD facilitated the development of the new building through site finding and acquisition, as well as managing the design and construction process.

Roxbury Prep / Uncommon Schools

Roxbury Prep has been providing Boston students with quality education since 1999. Roxbury Prep is committed to preparing each student to succeed in college and beyond. From the focus on both joy and rigor in the classroom to providing a supportive environment, the students have the foundation to make their dreams come true. Roxbury Prep serves students from grades 8 through 12.

QPD has been working closely with Roxbury Prep for Uncommon Schools to develop this ground-up facility. Set for 2025 delivery, the new building will accommodate up to 800 upper school students.
